The Boer war was a war between the Boers (the Dutch) and
the British. The first signs of war occured when Sir Theophilus Shepstone annexed what was left of the diminishing South African
Government in 1877. The British power over most of The South African colonies was confirmed in The Anglo-Zulu war of 1879.
